Home Instead Senior Care is proud to be a Designated Employer with the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. We are currently seeking applications from foreign nurses who are eager to practice their skills in Canada’s unique healthcare environment.
As a Home Instead CAREGiver, you will use your health care expertise to assist seniors in their homes in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. You will also have the opportunity to make your own home in Nova Scotia. Halifax boasts one of the lowest costs of living among cities in Canada, as well short commute times. Most importantly, our lifestyle gives you the best of both worlds – you can enjoy the vibrancy and energy of city life, while never being far from the open spaces and natural landscapes that will give you and your family room to breathe.
Potential job duties include:
* Mobility assistance and transferring
* Incontinence care
* Ostomy care
* Palliative care
* Alzheimer’s care
* Skin care
* Hair care
* Mouth care
* Bathing
* Bowel and bladder care
* Basic wound care
* Feeding
* Developing meal plans for specialized diets
Requirements:
A diploma, certificate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Example titles include but are not limited to: Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse.
A Canadian secondary or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree, OR a foreign degree, diploma, or certificate equal to a Canadian credential. The possession of or ability to obtain an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) verifying your credential.
Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English, and the possession of or ability to obtain test results indicating a language level of CLB 4 or higher.
