Are you a caregiver? Canada is looking for you!
In June 2019 the Canadian government launched the:
Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilot Programs
Under these pilot programs Canada will accept 2,750 Home Child Care Providers and Home Support Workers to work and live in Canada.
Home support workers provide personal care and companionship for seniors, persons with disabilities and convalescent clients. You may also know them as:
* live-in caregivers – seniors
* personal aides – home support
* personal care attendants – home care
* respite workers – home support
Home child care providers care for the well-being of children and assist parents with child care. You may also know them as:
* babysitters
* live-in caregivers, child care
* nannies
* parent’s helpers
Under these programs an employer in Canada can hire you as a home support worker or childcare provider to work for them full time in Canada.
If your application is approved by the government, you can bring your family with you to Canada. Also, after gaining 2 years of eligible work experience in Canada you may be able to apply for permanent residency.
