Manitoba Extends Invitations for Provincial Nomination
On December 27, 2024, Manitoba welcomed candidates to apply for the provincial nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) during its 235th draw. This initiative continues to support skilled workers aiming to establish their career and life in this prairie province. A total of 239 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs) were issued to those whose profiles qualified under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category. The lowest-ranked candidate had an impressive score of 857. Additionally, Manitoba focused on the Skilled Worker in Manitoba’s Occupation-specific selection, distributing 18 LOAs to professionals in specific fields, such as specialists in surgery (NOC 31101), general practitioners (NOC 31102), registered nurses (NOC 31301), nurse practitioners (NOC 31302), and transit operators (NOC 73301).
For those in the restaurant and food service manager category (NOC 60030), 19 candidates received LOAs, with the cut-off score being 632. In total, this round saw 276 deserving candidates invited. Importantly, the province reminded applicants to ensure their third-party language test scores and invitation numbers are valid to avoid any misunderstanding regarding their application status.
Meanwhile, British Columbia is transitioning its provincial nomination streams. As previously shared in 2024, the International Graduate and International Post-Graduate Streams will be succeeded by Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral streams with updated criteria. The window for filing applications under the International Post Graduate (IPG) stream closes at 9am on January 7, 2025. International students who met the eligibility as of December 31, 2024, have a brief timeframe to submit their applications.
Amid these developments, candidates are advised to assess their eligibility for enhanced PNP programs, ensuring that they leverage these provincial opportunities to their advantage. Both provinces continue to shape their pathways to suit evolving immigration trends and economic needs, providing myriad opportunities for skilled individuals worldwide.
