Taking a trip to Canada this summer?
Here are 4 things to look for
If you are considering going to Canada to study or migrate, you might be considering visiting Canada this summer to learn more about the country. If you are planning a trip, the following list will give you an idea of what to look for while you are in Canada:
1. Job Prospects: If you have an idea of where you might be living, consider researching jobs in the area. You can start by looking at online job boards such as randstad.ca and indeed.ca . When you do your research check to see how many postings are located in your area and the qualifications required.
2. Transportation System: While you are in Canada, explore the public transportation system. In major cities including Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, you can move around easily on the subway and bus systems. If you think you may be living in the suburbs, be certain to see how close the nearest bus or train station is to where you might be living. This information will help you determine how to navigate the town or city.
3. Public Schools: If you have children who will attend elementary or high school, explore the schools in the area. You may have the option of choosing a number of specialty schools focusing on subjects that include: French, Arts, Math, Science & Technology or Media Arts depending on your child’s preference.
4. Colleges and Universities: If you are considering attending a college or university, schedule a campus tour to learn more about the institution and on-campus accommodation. Most colleges and universities offer scheduled tours where you can learn a great deal of information about the institution.
Migrating to Canada or studying in Canada can be a big step, however if you are visiting Canada this summer, be certain to learn about your surroundings so you can be comfortable with where you might be living.
