Want to migrate to Canada?
The Canadian government announced the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, an exciting new federal immigration program aimed at attracting new immigrants to rural and northern communities in Canada. This five-year initiative will help match employers who are experiencing an acute labour shortage with skilled foreign workers.
How the program will work:
Job Offer
As a candidate, you will first look for a job with an employer in 1 of the participating communities.
Endorsement
Once you land a job, the next step will be to receive a recommendation from a community. If you get a recommendation, you can apply for permanent residency. If you’re successful in applying for permanent residence, you’ll then move there to work and live.
Requirements
To be eligible for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program, you will need to meet requirements that include:
* getting a recommendation from a designated community economic development organization
* having qualifying work experience or having graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary institution in the recommending community
* having a qualifying job offer
* meeting or exceeding the minimum language requirements
* meeting or exceeding the educational requirements
* proving you have enough money to support your transition into the community
* intending to live in the community
Opening
The government will start accepting applications in Fall 2019. Once the communities are ready to begin recruiting and recommending candidates, more information will be available.
